The Single Most Important Thing When You Look For Anti Aging Skin Care Products

When you shop for an anti aging skin care product, you want quality, effectiveness and safety. Most anti aging skin care products on the market provide none of those things.

There are several things that you should seek out and many others that it is best to shy away from. First, you always want to learn about the ingredients before you buy, so never order anything from the television. There is no way to judge any of the three major considerations from that distance.

The fine print hides the answers. It seems that the lettering is even smaller on an anti aging skin care product, because the manufacturer knows that we are likely to need glasses.

First thing in the morning when we clean, moisturize and prepare ourselves to face the day, we are usually without contacts or eyeglasses. So, when we get ready to use our new anti aging skin care products for the first time, we can't check the ingredients or even read the directions very well.

By the same token, a rejuvenating night cream is a popular anti aging skin care product, but just before bed is not the right time to be learning about fragrances, preservatives, chemical compounds and other components. You simply have to think ahead.

The anti aging skin care products that you should leave on the shelf contain chemical ingredients that cause allergic reactions, irritation and dryness and could actually be hazardous to your health. They include ethyl, methanol, benzyl and isopropyl alcohol, because they are drying.

Parabens are preservatives that have been banned in several countries, because they are believed to increase the formation of cancer cells, but they are still found in some anti aging skin care products. DEA, MEA and TEA are often used to adjust pH levels. They are also believed to cause cancer. Their use is restricted throughout Europe and in many other countries.

There are some cancer causing substances that are used in an anti aging skin care product to make harsh ingredients milder. Personally, I think that if the ingredients are mild enough for use on my face, then there would be no need to add chemicals to make them milder. Apparently, I don't understand the industry very well.

Other things that you may as well leave on the shelf are those that are ineffective or have no clinical research to back up their claims. Collagen fiber for example is commonly used in a number of anti aging skin care products. It is derived from the hide of the bovine, or cow.

It makes little since to me to rub something on my face that came from a cow, but the reason it is an ineffective anti aging skin care product is because it cannot be absorbed through the pores, so it basically just sits on top, drying and doing little else. Bovine collagen is also a common allergen.

As we get older, we do lose collagen and elastin, but instead of an anti aging skin care product that contains a form that our bodies cannot use, we should seek something called functional keratin, which in clinical trials was shown to stimulate collagen growth, regenerate elastin and increase production of new skin-cells. Anti aging skin care products that contains Wakame, a type of sea kelp, will increase levels of hyaluronic acid, improving elasticity, reducing bags and healing dryness and irritation. It's clinically proven.

H EQ10 is a combination of vitamin E and COQ10 that counters the effects of the sun and oxidative stress while "soaking up" free radicals as it travels down through layer after layer of skin. There is an anti aging skin care product that contains all of these fine ingredients, but it is not sold in any store. You'll have to do a little searching, but it's worth the effort.
