Skin care careers

Typically, you'll need to be at least 16 years old to enroll in skin care schools. Program length varies by state. In order to become a licensed skin care therapist in Florida or Massachusetts, for example, you need to complete 260-300 hours of training at skin care schools. In New York or California, however, aspiring skin care therapists need to complete 600 hours of skin care training. And in Illinois and Texas, the number of required hours jumps to 750. Be sure to verify requirements for skin care licensure with your state board licensing agency.

Skin care schools will prepare you to pass the state board exam, and may also assist you with career placement.
